New Qualcomm chips aim to connect phones to disparate 5G networks

In an unsurprising turn of events, Qualcomm announces that they are creating chips that are aimed at connecting phones to less used 5G networks. The chips, which will be sent to Qualcomm’s customers in the first quarter of this year, will aggregate signals sent over both sub-6 frequencies and the lesser used “millimeter wave” frequencies.

These chips will be expected to show up in premium smart phones by early 2021.
